A Chartered Town Planner having graduated University with a First-Class Honours Degree in Planning, Environment and Development and completed a Masters in Planning Built and Natural Environment at Birmingham City University in 2017. James has joined Marrons from CT Planning, where he spent the past eight years as a senior planner working on residential and commercial projects in both an urban and rural context, whilst also gaining an understanding of commercial aspects of planning.
Prior to this, James was a planning officer at Lichfield District Council, managing a caseload of more than 70 applications on average, varying from lawful development certificates, householder development, change of use applications, advertisement consent and listed building consent
With 10 years of experience at a reputable private practice following 18 months working at a Local Planning Authority provided an excellent grounding in development management. An experienced specialist with a passion for development, with a practical, proactive yet adaptive approach. By utilising experience of working in the public and private sector, James has developed good client relationships, project management skills and maintained successful relationships with planners and technical consultants
I take pride in working on projects to shape a space and turn plans into reality by advising on suitable strategies and helping navigate through the complex planning system. I enjoy working with clients to develop bespoke schemes and working collaboratively with consultants to achieve individual goals while offering a high-quality service. Having the backing of a law firm and working within a multi-disciplinary team, I am proud to offer a unique planning product and being part of a great team in the heart of Birmingham, my home town.
