Simon is Partner and Head of Socio Economics at Marrons, supporting clients in the delivery of socio-economic evidence underpinning development proposals. In leading Marrons socio-economic service Simon prepares and manages a variety of research projects for commercial clients, land owners and developers. Projects include economic benefit and impact assessments, demographic modelling, and socio economic statements. Projects are undertaken with the aim of providing a robust and credible evidence base to inform and support a client’s development proposal.

Simon has 28 years’ experience within both town planning and research disciplines, and is an established partner leading the group’s socio-economic team.

Simon prepares and project manages a variety of socio economic research instructions for commercial clients, land owners, strategic land companies and developers. Projects include economic benefit and impact statements, demographic modelling, and socio economic statements across a range of sectors. Projects are undertaken with the aim of providing a robust and credible evidence base to inform and support a client’s development proposal.

Simon also has extensive experience of commercial planning projects both in consultancy and client side

I enjoy drawing out the need for development and its impact on the surrounding population and, in particular, identifying the benefits of a scheme to the local community that are quite often hidden or not so obvious. This insight can also help inform a client's commercial decision-making process.
