Marrons Planning acted for Larkfleet Homes on a residential development at Upwood Road, Bury, Huntingdonshire.

The team successfully secured full planning permission in May 2019 for a 92 dwelling residential scheme with a good level of open space and associated landscaping and infrastructure. The site was an unallocated greenfield site outside of the settlement boundary and, despite this, Marrons Planning consistently argued for its inclusion during the Local Plan examination process and, through proactive working with the Local Planning Authority, secured Planning Committee approval for the scheme prior to the adoption of the plan.

The client was delighted with the outcome as securing permission for an unallocated site when the LPA has a well progressed local plan was always going to be a challenge but through our good relationship with the planning team at the council and skilful negotiation on behalf of the client, they were persuaded to allow this scheme. Ultimately the scheme was also praised at the planning committee for its high-quality design.
