Driving Growth and Expanding our Service Line with Heritage Lead Promotion

We are thrilled to have promoted experienced built heritage professional Hannah Hamilton-Rutter to heritage lead – further strengthening our specialist service line dedicated to the historic environment.
Launched in December 2022, our heritage service brings together planning, design and conservation expertise to help clients navigate the complex landscape of historic environment planning. Hannah, who joined us the following year, now steps into the lead role to oversee the continued growth of the service nationally.
With more than 13 years’ experience across both public and private sectors, Hannah is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) and brings a wealth of expertise in strategic land, development management, energy and regeneration projects.
Her heritage-led, commercially-minded approach has delivered successful outcomes for a wide range of clients, including land promoters, housebuilders, architects, planners and private individuals.
Hannah said: “Heritage can bring unique challenges and exciting opportunities to development. At Marrons, our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of planning legislation and heritage policy, alongside strong collaboration with wider project teams. I’m thrilled to be leading a growing team of passionate heritage professionals committed to delivering sensitive, pragmatic solutions that balance progress with preservation.”
Our heritage team is recognised by the IHBC as a HESPR organisation and provides informed, evidence-based advice that withstands scrutiny. From complex conversions and new developments in conservation areas to enforcement cases and strategic land promotion, the team offers tailored support that unlocks the potential of sites while protecting their historic value.
Brian Mullin, partner and head of Marrons, said: “Since the launch of our heritage service, demand for informed, proactive heritage advice has continued to grow. Hannah’s experience, leadership and ability to deliver practical, positive results make her a natural fit to lead our team forward. She is highly regarded across the industry, and her reputation for excellence and collaboration makes her an asset not only to our team, but also to our clients. Her appointment reinforces our commitment to integrating heritage expertise across all areas of our consultancy.”
Operating across the UK, the heritage team works closely with experts across our wider planning, economic development, urban design, architecture, land and master planning teams to offer clients a fully integrated and holistic approach to development, from concept to consent.
