Welcoming Four New Graduate Planners across the Midlands
Planning | Blog
We are delighted to have welcomed four graduate planners to our Midlands teams – Madeline Baldwin in Birmingham, William Moralee in Leicester, Amanpreet Panesar in Nottingham and Hermione Walton in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The appointments reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of planners and addressing the national shortage of qualified professionals in the sector.
Over the past four years, we have taken proactive steps to tackle the skills gap by investing in structured training programmes and mentoring groups. These initiatives form part of our business priority to recruit, retain and develop outstanding talent.
David Pendle, planning partner, said: “Investing in graduate talent is vital not only for the future of our business but also for the resilience of the planning profession more widely.
“By nurturing early career planners through mentoring, structured training and exposure to a wide variety of projects, we are helping to build the next generation of leaders who will shape sustainable places for years to come.”
Madeline recently graduated with a degree in archaeology from the University of York. She has gained practical experience through internships at Norwich City Council, international field schools and conservation programmes.
William studied history and politics at the University of Manchester and gained early planning experience through volunteering with his local parish council on a neighbourhood plan.
Amanpreet holds a degree in physical geography from the University of Sheffield, where she also studied abroad at Charles University in Prague. Alongside her studies, she was actively involved in student societies, working as an environmental officer.
Hermione graduated with a degree in geography from the University of Gloucestershire and previously completed an internship at a planning consultancy in Gloucestershire.
In their new roles, the graduates will be supporting the consultancy with a range of planning responsibilities, including preparing planning applications, assisting with local plan representations, contributing to planning strategy and land promotion, managing projects, and supporting housing land supply work.
Jacqueline Jackson, planning director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Madeline, William, Amanpreet and Hermione to Marrons. Each of them brings a unique set of skills, academic achievements and experiences, and they will all play an important role in supporting our clients and projects across the Midlands.”
