Senior planning duo joins our Nottingham and Sheffield teams

Following a significant increase in demand we are delighted to be growing our Nottingham and Sheffield teams with a duo of hires.
In their new roles, senior planners Jake Horton and Megan Bradshaw will be advising clients on strategy, carrying out site appraisals and promoting sites to local plans, and preparing, submitting and managing a wide range of planning applications.
With more than nine years’ experience, Jake has joined the consultancy from South Kesteven District Council, working his way up from trainee planning policy officer to senior planning policy officer.
During this time, he contributed to the production and adoption of local plans, neighbourhood plans and supplementary planning documents, while also providing policy advice and expertise across a varied range of planning applications.
Jake said: “Making the move to the private sector was always something I wanted to do in my career and Marrons felt like the perfect fit. Having previously worked closely with the team here – and knowing how great they are – it was a natural step for me.
“I’m excited to expand my planning geography, working with different local planning authorities and developers across the country. The opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of spatial projects, from residential to employment schemes, is something I’m really looking forward to.”
Megan has joined the consultancy from AECOM, where she started her career within the minerals, waste and resources team working on a wide range of projects including solar farms, wind farms and quarries.
In early 2024, she joined the infrastructure consulting firm’s planning consents team, where she continued to work on energy projects, alongside development consent order (DCO), nationally significant infrastructure (NSIPs) and defence sector projects.
Megan said: “I wanted to gain experience in the residential and commercial side of planning and after researching the industry, Marrons stood out as the perfect place to continue my journey. Their reputation for expertise made the opportunity to be part of the team incredibly exciting.
“I’m looking forward to broadening my skills as a planner, learning from my colleagues and gaining valuable experience across a variety of projects.”
The Nottingham and Sheffield teams take the lead in developing our offering in the area, securing planning permission for development and promoting greenfield and brownfield land to meet future housing and employment needs.
Andrew Gore, partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jake and Megan to the team. Their expertise, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives will be invaluable as we continue to meet the growing demand for our planning services.”
David Pendle, partner, added: “Jake and Megan have impressive experience and we are confident they will make a significant impact in our growing team. We look forward to seeing them thrive and contribute to the success of our clients and communities.”
