Marrons appoints planning director to drive Midlands growth and energy transition expertise
Planning | News
Planning, design and development consultancy Marrons has appointed Tim Farley as planning director, strengthening its senior planning capability and reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable housing and infrastructure growth across the region.
Tim brings more than 25 years’ experience across both public and private sector planning, with a career spanning development management, strategic land promotion, and major infrastructure delivery.
His appointment supports Marrons’ continued expansion in the Midlands and responds to increasing demand for commercially focused and strategically informed planning advice.
Joining Marrons from his role as director at Copesticks, Tim has advised a broad client base on residential, renewable energy, employment, retail, and infrastructure schemes throughout the West Midlands and South West.
His experience also includes senior positions at national property consultancies, where he led land promotions for clients, managed significant infrastructure planning contracts, and secured complex planning permissions and appeals.
Tim has also worked within local government, providing him with valuable insight into policy preparation, committee decision making, and the operational challenges facing local planning authorities.
This balanced perspective enables him to guide clients through evolving policy frameworks with clarity and confidence.
At Marrons, Tim will focus on residential and renewable energy projects, while continuing to advise on infrastructure, and roadside services schemes – including service areas, alternative fuels, and electric vehicle charging facilities.
Tim said: “There is a clear and pressing need to deliver significantly more housing across the Midlands and beyond, but that growth must be underpinned by robust infrastructure and renewable energy investment.
“Marrons’ breadth of expertise and the scale of its projects make it an exciting platform to further develop my specialisms. I was drawn to the strength of the team and its collaborative culture. I’m looking forward to contributing to the consultancy’s continued growth and supporting colleagues in developing their own careers.”
Brian Mullin, head of Marrons said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tim to our team. His appointment further strengthens our planning leadership in the Midlands at a time when the region faces significant opportunities and challenges around housing delivery, infrastructure provision and the transition to clean energy.
