- Urban Design
Sam is an urban designer with a background in planning, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the design and delivery of new places.
Sam holds a master’s in spatial planning with a specialism in urban design from Oxford Brookes University, graduating in 2019. He spent five years working as a chartered town planner in private consultancy, where he gained valuable experience on projects of varying scales – from small infill sites to large residential developments.
In 2024, Sam transitioned full-time into urban design, building on his planning expertise to support the creation of well-considered, deliverable proposals. Working across the UK as part of the masterplanning team, he contributes to sites at all stages – from strategic land promotion to outline applications.
His combined planning and design background helps ensure proposals are both visually coherent and aligned with policy, supporting positive outcomes for clients.

High quality design is good for everyone – it’s good for developers as it increases the likelihood of securing planning permission at an early stage and makes schemes more attractive; it’s good for occupiers, providing an attractive and well thought out environment; and it’s good for neighbours, reducing opposition to proposals. I’m excited to be involved in creating such designs.
