Annie is an Architect and Certified Passive House Designer. She has worked in various practices in Cambridge and Liverpool, gaining experience in areas including sustainability, working with heritage buildings and housing. Her particular areas of professional interest include retrofit, data-driven design and community engagement.
Annie is motivated to improve the sustainability of the built-environment, and this is woven into every stage of her design approach – from considering creative opportunities for re-use of buildings, to material specification, to using data-driven design to eliminate the performance gap of buildings. Based on her experience of working with historic buildings, she is particularly interested in retrofit in a heritage context, enjoying the problem solving required to balance the priorities of conservation and thermal performance.
Annie is an advocate for community-led design, and believes that by engaging end-users in the design process, we can create buildings and spaces that work better for the people that use them. She is a volunteer Trustee for the Histon and Impington Community Land Trust working to deliver affordable housing and amenities for the local community.
Finally Annie is passionate about accessibility and inclusion in design and in practice, and works to encourage diversity both in her design work and through contributing to a progressive work culture.
