Strengthening National Architecture Capability with two New Specialists

Architecture | News

We are delighted to have strengthened our national architecture team with the appointment of two architects, further reinforcing our position as a leader in sustainable, design-led architecture.

Associate architect Gessica Salerno and architect Annie Naughton, both Passivhaus certified, bring deep expertise in sustainable, low energy design, along with extensive contract administration and project management experience.

The strategic appointments enhance our ability to deliver low energy, sustainable developments across the UK, supporting our vision to integrate planning, design, and technical excellence on a national scale.

With more than two decades of experience, Gessica brings significant leadership and design expertise across leisure, retail, commercial, and residential sectors.

Prior to joining, she led her own successful practice, Keystone Architecture & Design, where she specialised in data driven retrofit and low energy design. Her work, which included delivering high end residential projects across the Cotswolds, was centred on the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings and sustainable design.

Gessica will play a key role in shaping the continued growth of the national architecture team and driving forward our sustainability focus.

Gessica said: “Marrons’ national growth and multi-disciplinary vision align perfectly with my belief that sustainable architecture should lead the way we design and build for the future.

“As a Passivhaus designer, I’m passionate about transforming sustainability from an aspiration into a measurable design outcome. I’m excited to contribute to Marrons’ dynamic expansion and commitment to innovation to deliver truly integrated design solutions.”

Bringing together expertise in heritage, housing, and community architecture, Annie has more than a decade of experience in sustainable and data driven design, working at Keystone Architecture & Design, where she focused on sustainable detailing and retrofit projects.

Annie will help advance the consultancy’s national sustainability goals and support the growth of its integrated architecture capability.

Annie said: “I’m excited to join Marrons and be a part of a growing multidisciplinary team. The consultancy’s integrated approach to design enables us to combine technical excellence with a deep understanding of sustainability. I’m looking forward to contributing to projects that deliver energy efficiency and long term value.”

Tom Macklen, architecture partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gessica and Annie to the Marrons team. Their extensive experience in Passivhaus and sustainable design brings invaluable expertise to our growing multidisciplinary practice. These appointments support our ambition to lead the way in high performance, future ready developments across the UK.”

The appointments come as we continue our growth journey, recording a 45% increase in revenue for FY 2024/25, taking our turnover to £9.6 million.

This success has been driven by strategic hires, new office openings, and a growing demand for our multi-disciplinary services spanning planning, architecture, urban design, socio economic, and heritage consultancy.
