Milton Keynes Urban Design Team Grows with Senior Appointment

Design | News

We are delighted to have expanded our Milton Keynes presence with the appointment of Simon Wise as design director – further enhancing our urban design capability and client-focused delivery across the East.

Simon joins from Barton Willmore (now Stantec), where he has collaborated and led on strategic masterplanning, outline and detailed planning applications, and design codes on a variety of mixed-use developments for housebuilders and land promoters.

At Marrons, Simon will play a pivotal role in growing the urban design team, mentoring staff, expanding the consultancy’s service offering, and supporting developers, landowners and public sector clients in Milton Keynes and beyond.

Simon said: “I was drawn to Marrons because of its collaborative culture and the opportunity to contribute to a growing, ambitious business. I’m excited to work with the team to advance the urban design offering and help deliver well-designed, high-quality places. There’s a real opportunity to expand our work in regeneration and town centre projects, which is something I’m particularly passionate about.”

Simon joins a strong Milton Keynes team, which also includes associate urban designer Matthew Smith – who brings more than 25 years’ experience delivering functional, sustainable communities across the UK – and senior designer Sam Metcalfe, who brings more than seven years’ experience in technical and urban design.

Luke Hillson, partner at Marrons, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Simon to Marrons. As a highly respected designer across the industry, he joins our Milton Keynes office as design director to further grow our geographical reach and strengthen our national coverage. His experience in strategic masterplanning and urban design leadership, alongside the expertise of Matthew and Sam, enhances our multidisciplinary capability in the region and ensures we can continue to deliver outstanding design-led for our clients.”
