Delivering a landscape‑led extension to a rural Village
We are supporting the delivery of a carefully designed, landscape‑led residential scheme at Green Park Way, forming phases 2 and 3 of a wider village‑edge development in Chillington, South Hams.
Building on an existing consent, with phase 1 already underway, the scheme extends the emerging neighbourhood with a coordinated mix of market and affordable homes.
Our approach responds directly to the site’s steeply sloping topography, shaping streets and terraces that step naturally with the land. This minimises intervention while creating high‑quality, usable private and communal spaces. The architecture draws from the character of Devon, using simple forms and a restrained material palette to ensure continuity with Phase 1 and reinforce a cohesive sense of place.
The scheme is underpinned by a strong focus on buildability, sustainability and long‑term placemaking. Retained trees, green corridors, sustainable drainage and energy‑efficient homes support both environmental performance and community wellbeing.
Together, these interventions demonstrate how thoughtful, context‑led design can deliver much‑needed housing while respecting landscape, strengthening identity and supporting the future of rural communities.
The development is now underway, with first homes completed and occupied, and further phases continuing.
