We are pleased to welcome five new graduates to our teams across the country – Simran Nijjar in Leicester, Tash Murphy in Sheffield, Pippa Brogden and Izzy Pendle in Bristol, and Balvir Rai in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The appointments bring together a broad range of academic disciplines and professional experience, spanning urban planning, architecture, geography, transport and development.
Investing in people at the early stages of their careers is an important part of our approach to building the expertise needed to support clients and respond to the increasingly complex demands facing the planning and development sector.
Partner, David Pendle, said: “We’re pleased to welcome our talented new graduates to Marrons, each bringing a strong academic foundation alongside valuable experience gained across the public and private sectors.
“The planning and development industry needs people who can bring different perspectives, disciplines and experiences to the challenges facing development.
“Supporting people at the early stages of their careers is both rewarding and to build the expertise and leadership our profession will need in the years ahead, and we are proud to be leading with this at Marrons.”
Simran holds a master’s degree in planning from Loughborough University and brings experience from Charnwood Borough Council. She previously completed an internship with us and has now rejoined.
Tash completed a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at the University of Sheffield. Her experience in a local authority highways department has given her insight into the relationship between transport, infrastructure and development, including the role of sustainable transport in shaping successful places.
Pippa studied urban planning at Loughborough University, with previous experience including a placement with Ridge and Partners, a summer internship with Bloor Homes and work experience with Places for People’s development team.
Izzy graduated from the University of Plymouth with a degree in architecture. She worked full time at Marrons over the summer before continuing part time alongside her final year at university.
Balvir holds a degree in geography and urban and regional planning from the University of Birmingham. His experience spans both consultancy and local government, including time with Turley and Telford & Wrekin Council, where he gained exposure to development management, enforcement, policy and validation.
